Truly one of the greats. Wayne Shorter was an amazing songwriter, player and human being. A dedicated Buddhist he shared wisdom and kindness with everyone he met. Look at the quotes his contemporaries have made about him. Of course they describe his playing but almost to a person they talk about what a unique and remarkable person he was. I have a feeling that he would choose that as his legacy over his remarkable artistry be it solo, with Miles or his groundbreaking work in Weather Report. Luckily, his legacy is all that. Best to Wayne on his continuing cosmic journey.
