The legendary Boston Jazz club Wally’s Cafe has reopened after going dark for two and a half years. The pandemic had a chilling effect on a lot of live music venues across the country with some being shuttered permanently. Thanks to a successful Gofundme campaign Wally’s has been able to survive and is reopening and ready bring jazz to the fine people of New England.
Founded in 1947 by Barbadian immigrant Joseph Walcott, Wally’s Cafe is one of the oldest family-owned jazz clubs in the country. Over the years the club has featured countless luminaries and has been considered a jazz training ground where many up and coming artists have cut their teeth.
While this is obviously great news live music venues, especially jazz clubs need support or they will disappear. Music is always better live so go and enjoy your local venues especially your local jazz clubs.https://wallyscafe.com/
